presents 2009

"The City of Champions Corn Maze"

The  2009 Corn Maze   "The City of Champions" Maze. In honor of the city of Pittsburgh's sports milestone. Both the SuperBowl Champions & the Stanley Cup Winner. The design has a football with XLIII below it & crossed hockey sticks with a hockey puck between the sticks.

In 2000, we created the "Get Lost Corn Maze". We cut a giant puzzle into one of our corn fields and opened it to the public. Wow, what an awesome adventure! Not only did people come out and get lost, but they left wandering just how they got out. It's a great way to spend a fall evening. Hopefully you will leave with a little better understanding of how agriculture is an important part of ALL of our lives.

You may be asking, "What is a corn maze?" It is a fun, interactive puzzle cut into a corn field, where the goal is to weave your way through the pathways and endless turns, corners and dead ends to find the solution to  the puzzle and ultimately find your way out. The cornstalks, which are the walls in the puzzle, are about 10-12 feet tall, so you cannot see over them.

It's challenging and fun for even the most experienced puzzle solver. Once inside, it's very easy to get turned around til all the paths look the same. It's CRAZY-it's GREAT-it's A-MAZE-ING!!

2000 Corn Maze

The 2000 corn maze was created in a corn field that was a little under 3 acres. It was designed in the shape of a jack-o-lantern. There were over a mile of twisting, turning and CORNfusing paths in the maze. No need to worry about finding your way out because "King Corn" sits in a 20 foot tower waiting to assist wayward maze guests.

The 2001 Corn Maze was 5+ acres and it had a horse, canyons and a sun. The 2002 corn maze was patriotic with 3 stars and U.S.A. The 2003 corn maze was a witch on a broom, flying thru the moon. (to go with our Halloween theme). The 2004 corn maze was all steps & angles---all maze! Then in 2005 we made it all circles (crop circles) some of us were dizzy by the time we solved it.

The 2007 corn maze was "The Kecksburg UFO Maze"-depicting the incident from 1965. You can be sure that it will be just as challenging as the previous years.

The 2008 Corn Maze was "Crazy Eights".

Throughout the maze there are punches-if you find all the punches AND cross over the bridge-you will have successfully solved the 2009 corn maze.

We Challenge you to try to solve the puzzle.

So come on out and Get Lost at "The City of Champions Corn Maze".

It usually takes about an hour to complete the maze, depending on your directional ability. But don't stop there.    You'll want to stop by the snack shack cause food always tastes better in the country you'll want to visit our Harvest Gift Shop for pumpkins, gourds, Indian Corn, gifts, toys and more. You won't want to miss the hayride or sitting a while by the fire. There's nothing like the country.......
